Growing up it was always me and my parents I didn't have a big family I had a grandmother an aunt and a few cousins that i grew up with. It was lonely being an only child ,made do with what we had. My father was a professional painter and my mom was a stay-at-home mom. One night my mother was getting me ready for bed and we were reading short stories together, my mother just started crying. As I was trying to comfort her. She said there's something I have to tell you. I said mom what is it? What's wrong?
She said you know your cousin well she's not your cousin. She's your sister. I was stunned and confused. I said what do you mean?
She said I gave your sister up for adoption before I got with your father.

I got an STD from a Soldier which caused me to have many issues due to there not being good Healthcare around.
My mother's health issues caused her to have Several Miscarriages before she got pregnant with my sister. When my mother got pregnant with my sister, she didn't believe she would carry the baby to full term.
As time went on she reached the end of her pregnancy and to her surprise, the baby was still there.
She thought to herself Now what?, what am I going to do? The baby survived all odds. She was a miracle baby.
My mother kept her for the first two years and had many struggles along the way, she realized she couldn't do it on her own anymore. She wanted to give her miracle baby the best chance of having a good life
That's when she decided to give my sister up for adoption which was the hardest thing my mother ever had to do. My mother gave the baby to her sister. My aunt Diana .This way she could still be a part of my sister's life.
Growing up we would see her from time to time. But I truly thought she was my cousin until my mother told me the truth. Now me and my sister years later are closer than ever we don't get to see each other as often as we would like but doesn't change the fact that we love each other and we will always be a family ❤️
